Leaked OneXPlayer X1 i Handheld Reveals Intel Core Ultra 5 338H APU
Recent leaks have unveiled a new handheld gaming device, the "OneXPlayer X1 i," which has surfaced through benchmark result databases. Early reports indicate that this upcoming device is powered by Intel’s "Core Ultra 5 338H" APU, a chip that has not yet been officially released. The leak, highlighted by hardware enthusiast momomo_us, centers around a FurMark 2 diagnostic test that first appeared in mid-November.
Benchmark Insights: Panther Lake-H Engineering Samples
The benchmark data suggests that the tested hardware is based on engineering samples of Intel’s "Panther Lake-H" processors. Analysis of the results shows that the performance of the integrated GPU (iGPU) lags behind some previous-generation models. Tom’s Hardware compared these leaked scores to archived results for Intel’s "Lunar Lake" (Xe-LPG+) and "Arrow Lake" (Xe2-LPG) platforms, using data from the GPU Magick database.
The Xe3 iGPU in the OneXPlayer X1 i achieved a score of 2,383 points in FurMark’s benchmark, with a reported maximum boost clock of up to 2,300 MHz and a power draw reaching 36 watts. Despite these specifications, the GPU falls short when compared to Intel’s outgoing Arc 140V and 140T integrated graphics. The Arc 140V scored 2,736 points, while the 140T reached 2,398 points. Notably, both 140-series iGPUs operate at a significantly lower power range of 10 to 12 watts, compared to the next-generation design’s 35-watt TDP. This suggests that the new Arc B370 solution is less energy efficient than its predecessors.
Arc B370 iGPU: Positioning and Architecture Confusion
The Arc B370 integrated graphics solution appears to be positioned as an entry-level offering. However, there is some confusion regarding its architecture and core count. Intel’s official documentation from two months ago only referenced a "smaller four-Xe-core GPU tile" and a "larger twelve-Xe-core version." The early "Core Ultra 5 338H" samples seem to feature a 10-core iGPU, which does not align precisely with the previously outlined configurations.
Adding to the complexity, the "B-series" designation for the Arc B370 typically refers to Intel’s "Battlemage" generation. Yet, recent statements from Intel indicate that the Panther Lake Xe3 iGPUs are not classified under the next-generation "Celestial" graphics architecture. This ambiguity leaves the exact positioning and capabilities of the Arc B370 iGPU open to interpretation as more information becomes available.
As the OneXPlayer X1 i continues to generate interest among PC gaming enthusiasts, further details about its hardware and performance are expected to emerge closer to its official launch.
