CPUID has released version 2.06 of the popular CPU-Z utility, which now supports reporting on a range of recent and obscure CPU and GPU models. This includes Intel's Alder Lake-N, AMD's Dragon Range mobile Zen 4 processors, Zhoaxin's KH-40000 and KX-6000G, NVIDIA's RTX 4060 Ti, and AMD's RX 7600. The update also includes preliminary support for AMD's Storm Peak platform, which is expected to be part of the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series featuring Zen 4. The platform is expected to be announced in Q3 2023 and will likely heat up competition in the HEDT market.

Intel recently released their Sapphire Rapids Xeon W range of processors, which features unlocked SKUs that compete with AMD's Threadripper 5000 series. The Xeon W range goes as high as the 56-core Xeon w9-3495X at $5,889 USD and as low as ~$1,000 USD for the 12-core Xeon w5-2455X. Intel also included some lower cost locked SKUs to offer the platform as workstations to the prosumer market. With Intel competing directly with Threadripper again, it was expected that AMD would respond with their latest and greatest.
