Thermaltake CAPO X: Dual-System Full Tower Case Officially Launched
Thermaltake has officially introduced the CAPO X, a distinctive full tower PC case that made a notable impression at Computex this year. The CAPO X stands out for its ability to accommodate two completely independent microATX systems within a single enclosure, making it an innovative solution for users seeking versatility and efficiency in their desktop setups.
Dual-Compartment Design for Independent Systems
The interior of the Thermaltake CAPO X is divided into two separate motherboard compartments. Each compartment supports standard microATX motherboards as well as rear-connector designs, including ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, and Gigabyte Project Stealth. This flexibility allows users to build two distinct systems, each with its own dedicated hardware and operating system.
Both compartments offer five expansion slots, GPU clearance up to 420 mm, CPU cooler height support up to 180 mm, and ATX power supply compatibility up to 250 mm. For cooling, each section can accommodate a 360 mm radiator, ensuring independent and efficient thermal management. Dedicated 2.5-inch storage mounts in each compartment further reinforce the separation between the two systems.
Independent Front I/O and Premium Build Quality
The CAPO X features independent front I/O panels for each system. The upper compartment’s I/O is positioned near the top-left, while the lower compartment’s panel is located toward the front-bottom. Each panel includes a USB Type-C 10 Gbps port, two USB Type-A 5 Gbps ports, as well as power, reset, and audio headers, providing convenient access for both systems.
Constructed from 1 mm SPCC steel, the case measures 691 x 305 x 448 mm and is equipped with a single 4 mm curved tempered glass side panel that spans both compartments. This design not only ensures durability but also offers a clear view of both systems, making it ideal for enthusiasts who appreciate aesthetics as well as functionality.
Versatile Use Cases and Availability
While the dual-system configuration may cater to a niche audience, it presents practical solutions for various scenarios. The CAPO X is well-suited for users who want to combine a gaming PC with a dedicated streaming setup, run an AI inference system alongside a primary workstation, or simply save desk space by consolidating two systems into one chassis.
The Thermaltake CAPO X is available in both black and white color options and is priced at 1270 yuan (approximately $187). Its unique design and robust feature set make it a compelling choice for advanced PC builders seeking flexibility and innovation in their hardware.
