GIGABYTE Unveils B850M AORUS Stealth: A MicroATX Motherboard with Backside Connectivity
GIGABYTE has announced the launch of the B850M AORUS Stealth, a microATX motherboard designed for Socket AM5 platforms and powered by the AMD B850 chipset. This new model stands out with its innovative backside connector layout, aimed at improving cable management and enhancing the overall aesthetics of PC builds. The B850M AORUS Stealth is among the first microATX motherboards from GIGABYTE to feature this advanced connectivity approach.
Power Delivery and Memory Support
The motherboard is equipped with a robust 8+2+2 phase CPU VRM design, ensuring stable power delivery for demanding applications and overclocking. Power is supplied through a standard 24-pin ATX connector and a single 8-pin EPS connector. For memory, the B850M AORUS Stealth supports up to four DDR5 DIMM slots, providing high-speed performance and future-proofing for next-generation computing needs.
Expansion and Storage Options
The Socket AM5 interface is directly connected to a PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, enabling support for the latest graphics cards and expansion devices. Storage flexibility is a key feature, with three M.2 NVMe slots available. One slot supports Gen 5 x4 speeds, another offers Gen 4 x4 (also CPU-connected), and a third Gen 4 x4 slot is linked to the B850 chipset. Additionally, the board includes two SATA 6 Gbps ports for traditional storage devices.
Comprehensive USB and Network Connectivity
The GIGABYTE B850M AORUS Stealth offers a wide range of USB connectivity options. The rear panel features four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (5 Gbps) and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports. There are also two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10 Gbps)—one Type-A and one Type-C—on the rear panel. For front panel connections, users can access two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (5 Gbps) and a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port (20 Gbps) via headers.
Networking capabilities are equally impressive. The motherboard integrates Wi-Fi 7 (160 MHz) and Bluetooth 5.4 through a Realtek RTL8922AE WLAN module, ensuring fast and reliable wireless connectivity. Wired networking is handled by a Realtek RTL8126 series PHY, delivering 5 Gbps Ethernet speeds for high-performance data transfer.
Audio and Additional Features
For audio, the B850M AORUS Stealth utilizes a Realtek ALC1220 HDA codec, providing high-definition sound quality for gaming, media, and professional applications. While GIGABYTE has not yet disclosed pricing details, the B850M AORUS Stealth positions itself as a feature-rich option for users seeking advanced cable management, robust connectivity, and reliable performance in a compact microATX form factor.
