SilverStone has introduced the CS240, a compact Mini-ITX NAS chassis designed for high-performance storage solutions in a small footprint. First showcased at Computex 2026, the CS240 is engineered to accommodate four hot-swappable 2.5-inch U.2 drives, making it an ideal choice for users seeking enterprise-grade storage capabilities at home or in the office.
Design and Build Quality
The SilverStone CS240 features a robust construction, combining an aluminum front door, a plastic front panel, and a steel chassis. Measuring 211 x 285 x 360 mm, the case offers a total volume of 21.65 liters, balancing compactness with ample internal space for advanced hardware configurations.
Versatile Storage Options
The highlight of the CS240 is its four external drive bays, each supporting tri-mode operation for NVMe U.2 (SFF-8639), SAS, and SATA drives up to 15 mm thick. These bays are connected via a backplane equipped with dual SlimSAS 8i (SFF-8654) connectors, supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 for high-speed data transfer. Additionally, the chassis includes an internal bay that can house either one 3.5-inch drive or two 2.5-inch drives, providing further flexibility for storage expansion.
Motherboard and Expansion Support
The CS240 is compatible with Deep Mini-ITX and Mini-DTX motherboards, offering two expansion slots for additional components. It supports graphics cards up to 300 mm in length and 168 mm in width, and comes with an integrated GPU support bracket to ensure stability for larger GPUs.
Efficient Cooling and Power Compatibility
For thermal management, the chassis is equipped with three pre-installed 120 mm fans—one at the rear and two on the side. The side fan mounts can alternatively accommodate up to three 80 mm fans, allowing users to customize airflow according to their needs. The rear of the case also supports a 120 mm radiator for liquid cooling setups. The CS240 can house CPU coolers up to 182 mm in height and is compatible with SFX or SFX-L power supplies up to 140 mm in length.
Front I/O and Connectivity
The front I/O panel of the SilverStone CS240 offers modern connectivity options, including one USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, and a combo audio jack, ensuring convenient access for peripherals and devices.

While SilverStone has not officially announced pricing or release dates, the CS240 has already been listed by European retailer Alternate at €349.
