AMD Fluid Motion Frames Preview Driver—December 7 Update
Over the past few months, AMD has been regularly releasing updates to its Fluid Motion Frames preview drivers. These drivers are not part of the main software package but are designed to showcase the capabilities of Fluid Motion Frames (FMF) technology. FMF allows for nearly doubling the frame rates of games by using interpolation techniques similar to those found in consumer televisions. The technology is compatible with DirectX 12 and DirectX 11 games on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines, and it works with Radeon RX 7000 series and RX 6000 series GPUs.
The December 7th update is based on the Adrenalin 23.12.1 drivers, which means it includes all the changes and improvements introduced by AMD with those drivers. Additionally, this update enables FMF functionality, although it should be noted that the driver is not WHQL certified. AMD claims that this release brings several stability improvements for FMF, reducing stutter and improving frame-pacing. To download the driver, click the link below.
