NVIDIA Unveils Developer Preview GeForce Drivers for RTX Spark on Windows-on-Arm

NVIDIA has introduced a developer preview of its GeForce drivers tailored for the RTX Spark PC platform, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Windows-on-Arm (WoA) computing. The release, identified as GeForce driver version 616.00, is the first driver package from NVIDIA specifically compiled for the WoA environment, signaling the company’s commitment to expanding high-performance graphics support on Arm-based Windows devices.

RTX Spark N1X Chip Variants and Specifications

Analysis of the driver installation files, as reported by Windows Latest, reveals two primary RTX Spark N1X chip variants. The first SKU features 6,144 CUDA cores, while the second offers 5,120 CUDA cores. Both variants are built on NVIDIA’s advanced "Blackwell" GPU microarchitecture, ensuring robust graphics performance and efficiency. Complementing the GPU, each configuration is paired with a 20-core Arm CPU and supports up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory, positioning the platform as a powerful solution for demanding workloads and next-generation applications.

Collaboration with Microsoft and Developer Support

NVIDIA is actively collaborating with Microsoft to optimize Windows 11 for the RTX Spark platform. This partnership aims to ensure seamless compatibility and performance for a wide range of applications, from AAA gaming titles to productivity and creative software. Developers now have access to essential optimization techniques, enabling them to port and enhance their applications for NVIDIA’s latest Arm-based platform.

In addition to the new driver release, NVIDIA has begun rolling out the CUDA toolkit for RTX Spark, designed as a native software toolkit for Windows-on-Arm.
