Microsoft Rolls Out Windows 11 23H2 with AI Integration

Microsoft has started the release of Windows 11 23H2, the major update for its PC operating system this year. This update brings significant integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into various features across the operating system.

One of the key integrations is Microsoft Copilot, which is now integrated with Windows. Copilot, powered by Bing Chat, is a chatbot based on GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) that not only gathers information from web searches but can also perform various functions at the operating system level. Users can ask Copilot to pair a Bluetooth device or find specific items on their machine or within their files. The Copilot feature can be accessed by pressing the WIN+C key.

Microsoft Paint also receives a major feature update with the introduction of the Paint Cocreator feature, which is based on generative AI. This feature assists users in creating accurate brush strokes and shapes, and also includes a prompt-based image generation feature. The Paint Cocreator is currently available as a preview feature.

Additionally, Microsoft Clipchamp, the video editor included with Windows, now includes generative AI enhancements. Tools such as Auto Compose help users build movies by arranging scenes, clips, transitions, effects, filters, and audio features like narration and background score. Clipchamp also integrates with popular social platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

The Snipping Tool, Windows' screengrab application, also receives AI enhancements, including the ability to scan images and extract or redact information. The Photos app now features AI-accelerated image recognition and categorization, allowing users to search for pictures by describing what they are looking for, similar to Google Photos.
