An engineer at AMD accidentally revealed the codenames for the upcoming "Zen 5" and "Zen 6" microarchitectures. These names refer to the CCD (CPU complex dies) and CPU cores used in Ryzen and EPYC processors. The CCD codename for "Zen 3" is "Brekenridge," while "Zen 4" is "Durango." The CPU cores for "Zen 3" and "Zen 4" are "Cerebrus" and "Persphone," respectively. The CCD for "Zen 5" is "Eldora," and its CPU core is "Nirvana." "Zen 5" will be based on the 3 nm EUV foundry node, while "Zen 6" will be based on the 2 nm EUV foundry node. The engineer's work on "Zen 5" lasted from January to December 2022, indicating that the development phase is likely complete and undergoing testing. Work on the power-management aspect of "Zen 6" has reportedly begun as of January 2023.
