LG Display Unveils 27-inch 480 Hz QHD Gaming OLED Display
LG Display, a global leader in display technologies, has announced the successful development of its 27-inch 480 Hz QHD Gaming OLED display. The company will showcase this groundbreaking display at CES 2024, marking a new era for OLEDs with ultra-high refresh rates.
The Gaming OLED display from LG Display utilizes the company's unique OLED technology, allowing each pixel to emit light independently without a backlight unit. This enables the display to achieve an unprecedented 480 Hz refresh rate, immersive QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440), and the fastest response time (0.03 ms) in the market. These features combine to deliver an optimal gaming experience for avid gamers. The 480 Hz refresh rate ensures smoother and clearer gameplay, even during fast screen transitions.
LG Display's Gaming OLED displays also offer enhanced image quality through the use of 'META Technology,' which incorporates a 'Micro Lens Array (MLA)' to maximize organic light emission and minimize external light reflections during darker scenes.
In addition, LG Display's Gaming OLED displays emit the lowest level of blue light in the industry, approximately half the amount emitted by premium LCDs. This reduction in blue light not only reduces eye fatigue but also eliminates flickering, providing gamers with a more comfortable and enjoyable gaming experience.
The 27-inch 480 Hz QHD Gaming OLED display is set to launch in the first half of the year. LG Display will also unveil its full lineup of Gaming OLED displays, ranging in sizes from 27 to 45 inches, at CES 2024, marking its entry into the high-end gaming display market.
The new additions to LG Display's Gaming OLED lineup include 34- and 39-inch displays with an ultra-wide (21:9) aspect ratio for an immersive gaming experience. The 31.5-inch panel supports a UHD (3840x2160) resolution, making it suitable not only for gaming but also for office work and content consumption.
